The City of Palo Alto has presented us with a Proclamation. Yowza!

Here is the full text of the Proclamation:

City of Palo Alto Proclamation

Gryphon Stringed Instruments 40th Anniversary

Whereas, Gryphon Stringed Instruments of 211 Lambert Avenue in Palo Alto serves our community as a pre-eminent source for top-quality new and vintage guitars, banjos and mandolins; and

Whereas, Gryphon Stringed Instruments, in addition, boasts a friendly and talented sales staff, unsurpassed repair crafts-people, and an excellent music school; and

Whereas, Gryphon Stringed Instruments, has established a sterling reputation locally, regionally, nationally due to its savvy use of the internet, internationally; and

Whereas, Gryphon Stringed Instruments, like other notable Palo Alto success stories, started out humbly in a garage, here, of founder Frank Ford, along with co-founder Richard Johnston, in 1969; and

Whereas, Gryphon Stringed Instruments is celebrating forty years in serving Palo Alto in these multifold music ways, as a flagship for our local retail economy.

Now, Therefore, I, Peter Drekmeier, Mayor of the City of Palo Alto, on behalf of the City Council do hereby honor Gryphon Stringed Instruments on their 40th Anniversary.

Richard made it into MSN news and there wasn't even a lineup required! There is a picture and a quote:
